I corresponded with David Bishop about his upcoming book Thrill-Power Overload, an exploration of the history of 2000 AD, and he informed me that "Alan Davis was interviewed for the book and is quoted extensively about his work on such 2000 AD series as Harry 20 on the High Rock and D.R. & Quinch."

Thrill-Power Overload is scheduled to be released by Rebellion in February of 2007.

The Amazon UK listing for the book is at http://www.amazon.co.uk/Thrill-power-Ov ... F8&s=books

2000 AD #1508 includes a memorial centrespread for veteran letterer Tom Frame, who passed away in July.

The 'jam' centrespread features the work of over 30 artists depicting 2000 AD characters they're associated (and well acquainted) with, so it's fitting that D.R. & Quinch appear in the centrespread in an illustration by Alan Davis.

Just some of the other characters (and the artists who drew them) from the tribute centrespread:

Judge Dredd - Jock
Rogue Trooper - Dave Gibbons
Winwood & Cord - Chris Weston
Johnny Alpha - Carlos Ezquerra
Psi-Judge Anderson - Ashley Wood
Halo Jones & Sam Slade - Ian Gibson
Zenith - Steve Yeowell
Sinister Dexter - Simon Davis
Nemesis The Warlock & Purity Brown - Bryan Talbot
Tom Frame Droid (in the middle) & Ro-Jaws - Steve Dillon

The centrespread can be seen at http://www.2000adonline.com/?zone=prog& ... hoice=1508

Speaking of D.R. & Quinch, here's something dating back to 1986 that's missing from Alan's checklist: 2000 AD #500.

Alan drew the dastardly duo for the character montage cover of this prog, and it can be seen at http://www.2000adonline.com/functions/c ... choice=500

I corresponded with Robert Kohlbus from Rittenhouse Archives Ltd. about the Davis content to be found in The Complete Avengers trading card set (scheduled for a November 29th release), and he informed me that Alan's art will appear on card #66, which spotlights The Avengers (Vol.3) #43.

Mr. Kohlbus added that "the fronts of each of the base cards feature interior artwork, while the backs of the cards feature the cover artwork."

More info about the card set is on the official page at http://www.scifihobby.com/products/disp ... ?SetID=141

Here's something that's missing from Alan's checklist -

According to the ebay auction at http://cgi.ebay.com/2000AD-377-Alan-Moo ... dZViewItem , 2000 AD #377 includes "a colour Pulger pin-up by Alan Davis."

Alan did put up a Pulger pin-up in the gallery section of his site ( www.alandavis-comicart.com/images/WPulger.jpg ), so I'd say this is the illustration that appears in 2000 AD #377.

For the Davis completist, here's another item for the checklist -

Wizard #92 (April 1999) includes several quotes from Alan on pages 20 & 21 (in the 'news and notes' section) regarding his work as plotter of Uncanny X-Men and X-Men (and penciller of X-Men).

Speaking of Wizard (but switching gears to the version published in France), according to the ebay auction from France below, Wizard (1st series) #8 came with a copy of X-Men Archives Sketchbook.

A New Mutants pin-up by Alan Davis, done for a UKCAC convention book, appeared within the North American version of X-Men Archives Sketchbook, but a lower page count (18 pages) for the French version that came with Wizard would indicate that some of the pages (including possibly Alan's) were excised for publication in France.

X-Men: The Characters and Their Universe is an oversized hardcover book that takes a look at the history of the X-Men in comics, tv, film and more.

The following Alan Davis reprint drawings appear in the book:

- Bishop as he appeared in The Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe: X-Men 2004 ( http://www.uncannyxmen.net/images/costu ... stume7.jpg ). An entire page of the hardcover is devoted to this image (although there's plenty of white, blank space on the page), and Alan is credited as penciller.

- A page from Uncanny X-Men #458 ( http://www.milehighcomics.com/cgi-bin/b ... 6288%20458 ), but without any word balloons or text. An entire page of the hardcover is taken up by this art, and Alan is credited as artist.

- Excalibur #1 cover art, free of logo/text.

- Sunfire from the last page of X-Men #93.
