Check out the cover, along with info about this 1994 release, at http://www.comicbookdb.com/issue.php?ID=42548

This cover art also saw print, in black & white, on page 79 of True Brit, accompanying the Davis interview.

2 other Doctor Who pieces by Davis - page 35 of Modern Masters Volume One: Alan Davis features "pencils from an unused cover for Doctor Who," and on his site Alan has a thumbnail "intended for Marvel UK's Doctor Who book." Alan Davis' Kobra art from Who's Who #12 was used on card #80 of the DC backing board cards.

From 1989, these cards came 8 to a sheet and served as the backing boards for 3-packs of DC comics available at large retailers (like Toys "R" Us).

The backs of the cards designated each as one of the following: 'Great Heroes,' 'Great Villains,' 'Great Teams' or 'Great Moments in Comics.'

Check out the 'Great Villains' Kobra card at http://www.mykey3000.com/cosmicteams/jl ... intro3.htm

The 3-minute Sketchbook, a benefit book for The Hero Initiative that'll include a Thing sketch by Alan Davis, will make its debut on August 31, 2007 during an art gallery exhibit of original art from the book.

Details can be found in the press release at http://www.heroinitiative.org/NewsDetail.asp?NewsId=80

The Thing sketch is up on Alan's site at http://www.alandavis-comicart.com/image ... sketch.jpg (Ben seems impressed that Alan finished the 3-minute sketch with 22 seconds to spare!)

The 3-minute Sketchbook, set to clock in at 112 pages, is also solicited in the August Previews.

That's a terrific picture of Ben Grimm. Wow 2 minutes 38 seconds and so much character in it. Easy to see why Alan is such a highly respected artist.

As noted at the link below, a letter from Alan Davis saw print in Gary Spencer Millidge's Strangehaven #1.

Note - the 6-page, Davis-drawn 'Friday Night at the Local' was written by Millidge (as noted by Alan at http://www.alandavis-comicart.com/TRIVIAfnatl.html ), but the checklist entry on Alan's site for Mea Culpa Special (where the story eventually saw print) mistakenly credits Alan as the writer.

I flipped through Comics International #202, and noticed that in the back pages they had small covers and descriptions of every back issue of the mag.

Davis stuff of note from past issues of CI:

#44 - the cover features the ClanDestine art which saw print as the centerfold in The ClanDestine Preview. The b & w original of this art is up at http://www.comicart-ltd.com/pages/clandestinead.htm

#52 - the cover features a close-up of the face of Captain Britain (in color), an image which had previously seen print (in b & w, reversed, and full-figure form) on the cover of the Society of Strip Illustration Journal - April '82 (which can be seen at http://www.alandavis-comicart.com/images/1ssi.jpg )

#86 - the cover features the art from the front cover of Fantastic Four (Vol.3) #1, which is up at http://www.alandavis-comicart.com/zzzFF.html
