Re: Ten ClanDestine Questions
1. Adam was born in 1168 and was in his “sixteenth year” when he nearly died. This means that his impalement occurred between his fifteenth birthday (in the summer of 1183) and his sixteenth birthday (in the summer of 1184). Could you provide a more exact date (i.e. season or month, year)? No, and ...

Re: Contribution to Bellamy's HEROS reprint?
I appreciate your enthusiasm but you’re building a case on speculation to challenge a situation that doesn’t exist from a perspective I don’t share. Firstly, I have no axes to grind with Book Palace. I suspected they had treated Nancy Bellamy badly and said so. I never spoke to anyone at Book Palace...

Re: Excalibur #6 cover - recoloured
Hi Ian First I must say you have my admiration and respect for having the courage to actually put thought/comment into action. I’ve tried to start a debate on the Forum about comic colouring in the past but failed to get any serious or intelligent reaction. The main obstacle to discussion about any ...

Re: Yay! New Clandestine, but what about Cap'n Oz?
I do have many Clan-stories I’d like to tell. A few of which include Cap’n Oz. I chose to tell the Vincent story, despite the complications of shifting focus away from the Destine family, because I thought this might be the Clans last appearance. I’ve thought that before and been wrong, and I’d love...

Re: Jubilee Alan Davis!
Thanks for the heads up. I had already seen someone wearing the shirt on TV a week or so ago and not really thought too much about it because there have been a number of CB shirts, action figures and badges in the past. I suppose it’s something about the shirt being sold in a supermarket, outside of...

Re: Art commission
Thanks for the kind words, Thad. I’m still under an exclusive contract to Marvel so can’t even consider outside offers. But thanks anyway. There is a fair amount of Frank Bellamy work available in collections-- though some may be out of print they do occasionally appear on e-bay—Such as High Command...

Re: Fantastic four: the End......and Chtulhu???
I recently finished reading for what is probably the tenth time "Fantastic Four: the End". A few things occurred to me during this (thoroughly pleasant) reading. Sergio, I’m glad you took the trouble to reread the book. I attempt to layer all my writing so that it can be read by youngsters in a sup...

Re: Some Excalibur Questions
* I'm curious about Kylun's (cool) feline adult appearance. As a kid reading Excalibur, I had assumed Kylun was intentionally (and consensually) transformed over the years via the magicks of some Ee'rath mystic in order to craft a more effective and fearsome warrior. But upon re-reading, it dawned ...

Hi Paulo
Chris’ plots were always complete and fully rational but as a stream of consciousness. So I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have added anything but I may have altered the flow or emphasis.

Re: Nightcrawler
I was never given an editorial edict and I’m glad. It’s not a story I would have liked to attempt for a number of reasons. Its undoubtedly a novel idea to have a female (Mystique) father a child but I’d prefer to see a new character created to fit the role of offspring—Or use a character readers wou...

Re: Blank variant sketch
Thanks for your kind words but, as I explain on my website and elsewhere in this Forum, I don’t do specific commissions and only very rarely sell pencilled ‘non-commission’ sketches. And, even if I did do commissions, I wouldn’t do one on a blank variant through the mail. In the past items sent to m...

Re: paid character design
I’ve never designed characters outside of a specific need within a story. It’s easy enough to cobble together visual cues linked with some pattern or theme to create a costume or physical type but that doesn’t really interest me—because it’s invariably anonymous and generic. Anything more than that ...

Re: Retirement plans?
Not irritated. I’m always happy to answer a sensible question but have no interest in debating an assumption of my thinking or of a conjecture based on simplistic characterisation, selective quotes and individual preference—As evinced by the clutter of cover images that add neither authority nor cre...

Re: What are some of your favorite costumes in comics?
I do have favourite costume designs but I’d need to qualify my choices with some aspect of either character type or illustrative style. As a very young reader I thought the Superboy and Supergirl costumes looked great but didn’t like it so much on Superman. It was only in adulthood that I could unde...
