Any tips for drawing night scenes in comics?

For my webcomic I'm embarking on drawing a story that takes place entirely at night. The characters are in a forest and then a mansion and the only light sources in the whole story are flashlights, a hand held lantern, and the moon. Sometimes I use some cross-hatching around the characters like an a...

What's your secret?

With motion lines in your drawings? They are perfect I dare say. Do they take for ever to do because sometimes the whole page looks filled with them (in a good way!).

Thanks,

Do you watch any comic book related animated series?

Hello sir,

I was wondering if you do since there have been a fair amount of comic book related animated series over the past few years.

I might as well sneak in asking about movies as well.

Who is Jazz in ClanDestine?

Hello! I recently received the ClanDestine Classic hardcover. In the back are some character sketch designs. On one page is Argent in full metal armor design. On the same page is a character named Jazz. She has a short bob haircut compared to Samantha's log hair. Jazz also has a cat next her, then a...

X-Men Dark reign: The List

I just picked this up today and was quite happy with it. Pretty hard NOT to be pleased with new Alan Davis art. I was surprised to see Mr. Davis's art on the inside. I was expecting just a cover from him. The story left me a little bit wondering in certain elements that I can't go into without major...

Yet ANOTHER Rachel & Excalibur question

Hello Mr. Davis, On another comic book forum there's a poster slowly reviewing comics of Excalibur the original series from Marvel. Currently he's up to issue 6, the Inferno 2 issue arc where Rachel and crew go to New York. So that got me rereading some old issues as well. Back in the first 20 issue...

Thoughts on X-Men: Forever

Hello Mr. Davis, I've been following an X-men Forever thread over on comixfan. It seems to be the only place Chris Claremont posts. Sure enough, your name popped up. :) Any thoughts on the following that was posted on comixfan? Quote: Originally Posted by Kevin Jones View Post How about Alan Davis? ...

Excalibur: Forever

On some other comic book forums there has been discussions about Chris Claremont's upcoming series titled X-Men: Forever. The series is to be about what CC would have done with the X-Men had he not been removed from the X-Men title he was working on with Jim Lee as Jim Lee was hitting his huge run o...

Have you done any illustration work outside of comics?

I cannot recall hearing that you have done so. Any chance you can tell us if you have?

Thanks again,

Dear Sir,...

What do you do when you get stuck writing a character that you don't really understand or worse, a character that you don't like. You've done some pretty big cross-overs so I'm guessing you've encountered such a situation.

Thanks!

Re: Clandestine: The Movie

With all the characters in the family I think it would do better as a stand alone movie with maybe a wink to the Marvel Universe.

I think the better question may be which actors would you like to see play the characters!

Re: question about Excalibur issue 2

Thanks, Ike.

I was thinking that was the case. But I was hoping for some sort of lost X-File from the original Excalibur series because I love behind the scenes type stuff.

Oh, well.

question about Excalibur issue 2

Looking at some of your old Excalibur pages I noticed that this page is listed as page 17 and then marked 24. Do you recall why this was? Where there changes in the script. I'd love to see Chris Claremont's old scripts if things got switched around and such. Thanks for any help and info you can prov...
