Got to meet Alan Davis for a second time. :)

Alan Davis came back to Terrificon 2019 in Connecticut in The United States which is a 90 minute drive for me. I was able to get a sketch of my favorite character Rachel Summers which came out great! :) It will be framed and on display in my house. I also picked up two pages of original artwork one ...

Re: Holy Moley! Alan Davis coming to a comic con near me!

So the day has come and gone and I got to meet Alan Davis in person. Due to my work schedule and an ocean between us, I never really considered it a reality that I might meet my favorite comic book artist in person so this was a big day for me. And, of course, I bungled my way through the first coup...

Holy Moley! Alan Davis coming to a comic con near me!

I am unbelievably excited that today TerrificCon in the state of Connecticut, USA announced they will be having Alan Davis as a guest. This isn't that far from me - a 90 minute drive by car - so I CAN"T WAIT for August!

Sorry, not trying to brag, just really happy and excited. :)

The Fury

Hello, sir! I came across my X-Men Archives featuring Capt. Britain so I had to reread them. :) The Fury is such a cool character especially combined with Jim Jaspers. I was just wondering if you could share any background info on the character. I would be interested in hearing how the character's d...

Re: Was there a pitch to Marvel for a new Excalibur series?

Highly disappointing that editorial had no interest in Excalibur. Seems very few creators create good stories and art for my favorite character, Rachel Summers. I'm sure I would've enjoyed your and Chris's efforts had this come to pass.

Thank you for answering my question.

Was there a pitch to Marvel for a new Excalibur series?

I came across a post on another comic forum that cited that Marvel had turned down a new Excalibur series to be written by Chris Claremont and drawn by Alan Davis. The way the post was worded it seemed to suggest that the pitch or the title was for 2014. I hadn't heard about this before. Does anybod...

U.S. apperance in Chicago

Kinda heart broken to read that you will be in Chicago for a comic book con and all my vacation time from work has already been scheduled towards other cons.

When you are at a con do you just do sketches?

One day I would like to have you do a more involved pin-up commission.

Retirement plans?

I hope this isn't too personal of a question. I was just wondering if you have an idea of when you'd stop working on comics, mainly monthlies I'm thinking.

Maybe I shouldn't try coming up with questions when it's gray, dreary and drizzling outside. :|

Re: Crazy Gang from Excalibur

Thank you for your reply and the information. And I appreciate the clear answers you provide. I find it much better to know that you have no plans to use characters and/or work on titles than leaving some cryptic answer that are open to interpretation.

Crazy Gang from Excalibur

Hello Mr. Davis, Is there any info you can provide on the Crazy Gang? Can you share your thoughts on the characters? There seems to be a bit of divergence in their evolution. In the Captain Britain trade I have Jamie Deleano seems to have them oddballs that are dangerous but totally out of synch wit...

Re: Any tips for drawing night scenes in comics?

Thank you for the prompt reply. The idea of watching the old Universal horror movies is a suggestion dear to my heart since I love those old movies and have them on video! I tromped out into the woods behind my parents' house with my brother and his digital camera in tow. Took a few pictures that sh...
